Sundance is Coming

"Sundance is a great festival for little people. ... But for the rest of us normal people, it's just a chance to fuck a Mormon"- Ari Gold.

Ari might be right. But when it is freezing, there is bye week for N.F.L football and nothing else to do. I'll be looking to catch a flick. Sundance makes you jump through major hoops to get tickets, and they aren't cheap at 20 bucks a pop. But we'll see how it goes. Last year I saw one movie, some Colombian Film that made me never want to go there. Maybe this year I'll shoot for two films.

Star Wars SUCKED and My Top Five Films of 2015

I didn't have high expectation on Star Wars and still came away disappointed. Haven't been this disappointed since getting friend zoned via snapchat. This post might seem a little late. No way I was going to see Star Wars the day, week, or month it came out. Too many packed theaters, too many nerds. I was going home to pick up some things and decided to catch Star Wars with the folks. Like I said, I wasn't going into it with high expectations, but there were 1, maybe 2 scenes that made it worth it. I won't be seeing the next one in theaters that is for sure.

anyway... there were many good films from 2015. Here are my top five.

1. The Hateful Eight- was able to catch the roadshow on Christmas Eve in California (it didn't hit Utah until later). I loved it. The first hour was kind of slow, but the last two were just as entertaining as anything Tarantino has done.

2. Sicario- Probably should be number one, but I didn't see it on the biggest screen possible. I watched this in my basement, and regretted not seeing it in theaters.

3. Ex Machina- Crazy story, but simple. Loved the scenes. The dance Oscar Isacc did was smooth and had my laughing.

4. Spotlight- Just really well made. I liked the story, and walked out of it thinking more about the story than any other movie maybe besides The Hateful Eight.

5. The Revenant- Saw this Christmas day. This movie kind of dragged, but had some very good scenes. Tom Hardy and Leo are very good as always.

Honorable Mention- Inside Out, Mad Max, The End of the Tour.

Most Disappointing- Entourage, Black Mass, Me and Earl and The Dying.

LOOK OUT FOR THE $2 LICORICE AND SMOKES BANDIT

Why Licorice and smokes huh? Sounds a little bit like profiling to me. Maybe the Bandit will buy Muscle Milk and Dorito's with those two dollar bills. Can't rule anything out. #MakingAMurderer

BYU Fans are Crying Again

Yesterday I was scrolling through Facebook (big mistake, my Feed is all click bait articles and self help Mormon blogs that people post.) When I saw a kid share this article http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/ncaab-the-dagger/utah-s-decision-to-halt-byu-series-is-a-massive-overreaction-014039707.html?soc_src=mediacontentsharebuttons&soc_trk=fb First of all, I didn't even know this kid liked sports. This is the hell I live in, people up in arms about a game they probably don't even watch. First of all, it is kind of weird to cancel a game just because of a "punch" thrown a few weeks ago. But BYU, maybe don't lose by 20 and the game will be more exciting. Maybe take some of that energy it takes to punch someone and play a little defense for once. We've already been through this with football. I never cared about this rivalry much, and now i'm sick of hearing people complain that its not happening. BYU is independent in football, and in the West Coast Conference for basketball. Utah is in the Pac12 and usually shit cans B.Y.U when they play anyway. Let's just all move on. Oh yeah, Cosmo tosses salad.
